Genevieve Quintal, News24:

Passenger Rail Agency of SA (Prasa) board chairperson Popo Molefe is expected to brief media in Pretoria on Thursday on the outcomes of Public Protector Thuli Madonsela's report on alleged maladministration at the agency.

Madonsela's report detailed 32 complaints against Prasa, most of them involving maladministration relating to tenders totalling R2.8bn. Madonsela found 19 of them were substantiated. Another three would be the subject of reports in future.

Following the release of the report last month, Molefe said the report would be tabled before the board and carefully considered. Further steps would then be decided on.He also said the report would help put claims of impropriety to rest.

Axed Prasa chief executive Lucky Montana was widely implicated in the report. In 2012, the SA Transport and Allied Workers’ Union reported allegations of corruption and tender irregularities at Prasa to the Public Protector.Montana has said he will go to court to challenge Madonsela's report.
