Johannesburg - The real value of recorded building plans passed, at constant 2010 prices, increased by 2.2% year-on-year during January to September this year, Statistics SA said on Thursday.
The 2.2% real value increase was equal to R1.209bn, Stats SA said.
Residential building, with a 10.3% or R2.53bn year-on-year increase, was the only positive contributor to the increase.
Meanwhile, the real value of buildings reported as completed decreased by 13.4% (R4.73bn) year-on-year during January to September 2014.
The completed building decreases were in additions and alterations (30.9% or R2.68bn), non-residential buildings (13% or R1.25bn) and residential buildings (4.7% or R793.2m).
