Washington - Consumer prices in the US rose by a seasonally adjusted 0.1% in September as energy prices fell, the Bureau of Labour Statistics said Wednesday.
The slight rise followed a 0.2% decline in August, which was the first time the rate had seen a drop in 16 months.
Excluding volatile food and energy prices, the government's inflation index also ticked up 0.1% last month.
Inflation rose 1.7% in the 12-month period through September.
