Johannesburg - Share prices on the JSE firmed on Monday morning for no apparent reason other than that buyers saw opportunities after the market came down a bit last week.

Naspers [JSE:NPN] stocks were making a big comeback to a new all-time high after losing some ground last week.

Except for the Gold index, which is still losing ground due to a falling gold price, all the major indices were higher by Monday midday.

Analysts do not expect much fireworks on the markets this week as it is a short one with the markets closed on Friday and next Monday for the Easter weekend.

There is also not much impetus expected from the overseas markets as the latest US jobs data is expected on Friday, but the markets will only be able to respond next week. Wall Street is also in the midst of results season and there are concerns about valuations.
