London - European stock markets rose at the start of trading on Wednesday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index increasing 0.15% to 6 899.63 points.
Frankfurt's DAX 30 advanced 0.33% to 11 317.24 points and the CAC 40 index in Paris gained 0.28% to 4 882.94 compared with Tuesday's close.
European equities had fallen Tuesday after recent strong gains, with traders sitting tight as the eurozone awaits fresh central bank stimulus.
