Los Angeles - A glitch in Apple's new mobile payment system, Apple Pay, caused some Bank of America customers to get charged twice for a single transaction, according to multiple media reports on Wednesday.
Bank of America is working to correct the problem and should have the issue fixed, the tech website Recode reported, citing a person familiar with the issue.
Apple launched the payment system on Monday.
After credit cards have been loaded into the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, a near field communication (NFC) antenna enables users to make in store payments by simply holding the phones near the contactless reader, while putting a finger on the phone's Touch ID sensor.
Bank of America is one of several banks backing Apple Pay, including Capital One, Chase and Wells Fargo.
Apple Pay users have also taken to Twitter to express their experiences with the system.
I had to go inside to pay for gas with Apple Pay, and the cashier asked to see my card. The one I intentionally left at home.

Second Apple Pay purchase: CVS pharmacy, snacks. Because I don’t usually buy snacks and this way I can call it “research."
