As South Africans battle through lengthy hours of load shedding, tiptoeing around the possibility of Stage 8, there are lessons to be learnt from other countries which have similarly faced energy crises.
This week the National Energy Crisis Committee has been locked in meetings with President Cyril Ramaphosa to figure out what to do differently. Load shedding is taking its toll on various business operations, with the poultry association indicating that power cuts are forcing it to cull 10 million day-old chicks per day.
