South African demand for the convenience of online shopping is showing no signs of abating, with Shoprite reporting a 63% surge in interim sales for its on-demand delivery service, Sixty60, off an already high base.
Africa's largest retailer, worth almost R160 billion on the JSE, reported on Tuesday that retail sales grew almost 14% to R121 billion in its half-year to end-December, adding that a streak of gaining market share from rivals has now extended to a 58th consecutive month.
