Kusile, one of the country's newest power plants, is only producing a quarter of the electricity its three operational units are supposed to be, due to a series of breakdowns and faults, Eskom says.

The Mpumalanga power station's energy availability factor (EAF) has fallen to just 24.5%, Eskom states in a recent presentation.
