I took up a retirement annuity fund in October 2010 and I am paying R340 every month. My question is how much can I get roughly, when I retire at the age of 55 years?
Bennie Wessels, product actuary at Sanlam, responds:
To calculate the illustrative value at the age of 55 years, I need to know how old you are currently. In the absence of this information, I developed the following table.
The calculations are based on the assumption that you earn a yield of 8% per annum (after costs) on your investment. I further assume that the premium stays constant on R340 per month and does not increase.
