Customer:"We had the most disgusting experience at Possum's last night. That morning I had phoned and made a reservation for 9, but more friends wanted to join us and we decided it would be better if they rather booked a separate table and so I reduced our reservation to 5 people. From the moment I walked in I was given attitude over the booking changes by the man that seated us. At some point a blonde woman came up to us to explain the menu, however she was unable to take our order as she was clearly intoxicated. I'm not sure if she was the owner or manager.
The waitress came and took our order. The food arrived and we started eating when suddenly this woman appeared at the table again and started harassing us about the booking being changed. She was extremely rude and aggressive, stating that she ran a very busy shop and that she doesn't like "being f**ked around". When we asked her to mind her language she commented that "it was the 21st century and that f**k was a normal word". She was clearly intoxicated and unreasonable. We decided to get up and leave the restaurant, at which stage she tried to detain one of my friends against his will. When he insisted on leaving, she screamed after him to "f**k off". Needless to say, we will never consider going to Possum's again."
Owner response:"Dear Nicola, Firstly before you shoot bullets you should get your facts straight. Yes you were a very irritating customer and despite that we tried our best to accommodate you. You were 3 people and quite frankly we turned away many people that could have utilized the second table, which you assured me was going to be filled by your late coming friends...
Secondly I do not take orders from the tables as routine, nothing to do with being intoxicated. My language was appropriate for the given situation and company. Thirdly, the gentleman was not detained, we were pleased to be rid of you, as we're the two tables seated near you. So please do not flatter yourself my dear. You cost me 3 meals and a good bottle of wine. We will be pleased not to receive you again. You do not fit the Possum profile. Thank you."
