Nairobi - New study by the National Economic and Social Council (NESC) does not rank East Africa favourably as a competitive tourist destination, and is urging regional governments to review the regulatory frameworks in the sector.
Capital News reports that, the NESC report was prepared in conjunction with the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, Sub Regional Office-East Africa (UNECA SRO-EA).
The report states that governments must stimulate private investment through the creation of specific tourism related fiscal, financial and other incentives.
