Nairobi - It has now emerged that the Memorandum of Understanding that was signed in June by Kenya and Iran for the importation of four million tonnes of Iranian crude per year has been cancelled.
In a statement to
Capital News on Wednesday, Patrick Nyoike, the Energy Permanent Secretary said that they had cancelled the deal, citing recently imposed international sanctions on Iranian oil.
The PS went on to add that they could not pursue that direction due to a UN embargo.
