Nairobi - Muthoni DQ unveiled her "Feelin' It" video directed by Laura Balsera and sets Nairobi music scene ablaze as it ups the game yet again.
The exclusive screenig was held at the StarFlix Cinemas - Prestige Plaza, Nairobi on Friday evening, as industry insiders came to see what the formiddable duo compromising of musical genius and director extraordinnaire power team had in store.
The video premier dubbed "Night of the Superheroes" was aptly themed as it came in the wake of Muthoni DQ and Octopizzo's "Vile Inafaa" footsteps, currenlty reigning high on both local and international charts.
The pressure was on for the video to be clean, crisp and shoddy grainy and low quality was not an option. And as the curtains came up and the opening shot came on the screen, I was happy I braved the evening cold and drizzle to be a part of this new dawn.
Kenya music industry has come a long way from the days of videos being shot in friend's homes, using hand held video cameras and using family and friends as cast and crew.
The Director Laura was approached by Muthoni DQ to work on the project and was involved in the creative process from concept to reality.
The video was shot using a Scarlet RED camera, same as those used on blockbuster Hollywood films like recent blockbusters, The Amazing Spiderman and Prometheus.

Shot on location at Protel Studios AACC, Westlands & FINIX Casino, Hurlingham Nairobi, it was a gruelling one day shoot and the results was a high quality video meshing up to international standards.
The Post production of the video was handled by an international firm and special software had to be flown in as so far no one had attempted to use such a camera to shoot locally.

Purple Native Films, was brought on board to deal with the technical aspects of the video, with Koila handling the editing, John Wambugu was the post Production manager and Laura not only directing but Producing the whole project. Jim Bishop, a freelance Director of Photography was roped into the project too and was only too happy to be a part of the team.
The "Feelin' It" video is original and well executed with professional crews each playing their roles to the hilt as they weave a visual tale that shall get your feet bopping, your fingers clicking, your waist shaking and your eyes feasting.
