Eldoret North MP William Ruto on Sunday hinted that he will pick his running mate from Meru or Mombasa Counties ahead of the general elections.

The URP presidential candidate said that he is having talks with Energy Minister Kiraitu Murungi in a bid to pick a running mate from the region.

“Kiraitu is a performer. What is wrong with me appointing him as my running mate, once we are through with negotiations  I will decide whether to pick one from Mt. Kenya region or Mombasa,” he said.

Speaking at Igoji Catholic Church in South Imenti District, the presidential candidate said he is ready to work with APK party founder owing to his developmental track records.

“I am very sure I will make people of Meru proud if I pick one of our own as my running mate.I know Kiraitu very well and am convinced we can work very closely for the benefit of this nation,” he said.

Accompanied by Joshua Kutunny (Cherengani), Cheptumo (Baringo South), Ruto claimed that his party is ready to work with a like-minded one ahead of the general elections.

Speaking the former cabinet minister urged residents to elect leaders who are qualified to rule the Country.

“Don’t elect leaders who are only good at making noise and planning demonstrations because they will fail drastically to unite Kenyans and develop the economy of this nation,” he said.

The legislator urged the residents to analyze all presidential candidates and elect a contender who has never been implicated in corrupt deals.

He challenged other politicians to engage on development conscious campaigns and shun from giving empty words just to woo voters.

“Empty words will never take our country anywhere let think how our nation can get to another level  both economically and socially,” noted Ruto.
