Uhuru denies talks with Mudavadi

2012-06-25 16:09
Nairobi - Capital News reports that Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta has distanced himself from claims that The National Alliance party (TNA) was in talks with the United Democratic Forum party (UDF) over a joint ticket in the upcoming general elections.

Uhuru said on Monday that no such talks had been held with his counterpart Musalia Mudavadi, and described the allegations by Ndaragwa MP Jeremiah Kioni and Laikipia West MP Nderitu Mureithi in the media on Sunday as blatant lies.

The media report had alleged that in the new scheme, Uhuru would be compelled to be Mudavadi’s running mate while UDP’s William Ruto would be leader of majority in the House.
