Rihanna rakes in 7 figures for first full concert after 8 years as she entertains Asia's richest man

Rihanna performed her first fully-fledged concert since 2016 on Friday in India as part of the pre-wedding celebrations of Radhika Merchant and Anant Ambani.

Anant Ambani is the son of billionaire Mukesh Ambani, considered Asia's richest man and chairman of Reliance Industries, one of the country's top companies. Radhika Merchant is the daughter of business tycoon Viren A. Merchant.

The three-day pre-wedding celebrations, which concluded Sunday, were hosted by Mukesh Ambani. The couple are expected to marry in July.

Rihanna has made minimal public performances since her Anti World Tour in 2016. She performed during the Super Bowl halftime show and the Academy Awards in 2023.

There were 19 songs on the singer's setlist for the wedding celebration in Junagadh, which included her major hits Diamonds and We Found Love.

It is speculated that the artist received between $5 million to $8 million for the performance, according to Rolling Stone.

The celebration reportedly had a guest list of about 1200 people, including Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, Bob Iger and Ivanka Trump. Numerous prominent figures from India were also present, including business people, entertainers and politicians.

The other members of the Ambani family have previously had big wedding performances as well, from artists such as Beyoncé, Coldplay's Chris Martin and The Chainsmokers, according to TMZ.

In addition to Rihanna, magician David Blaine was also scheduled to perform.

Rihanna has not shared any new dates regarding upcoming concerts and has yet to release her next album.

Mukesh Ambani is reported to be the world's 10th richest person, worth more than $116 billion.

The industrial enterprise that he inherited from his father included oil, gas and petrochemicals, according to AFP. His current business dealings also include retail, entertainment, textiles, energy, media, telecommunications and a cricket team.

The Ambani's home in Mumbai reportedly cost over $1 billion to make.
