- South African MotoGP rider Brad Binder returned home for a special occasion this holiday.
- The Red Bull KTM Factory Team rider married long-time girlfriend Courtney Renniers earlier in December.
- Binder will return to the MotoGP grid in 2024.
South Africa's MotoGP superstar Brad Binder led a different kind of race this weekend as he sprinted to the altar to marry the love of his life, Courtney Renniers, in a lavish ceremony in Stellenbosch.
On Saturday, 9 December, Binder married his long-time girlfriend of six and a half years in a lavish wedding at Monlenvliet Vineyards in Stellenbosch.
On the grid, he is a force to be reckoned with; at the same time, he is also one of the coolest and most humble MotoGP riders you'll meet.
The 28-year-old rider from Potchefstroom had us on the edge of our seats almost every race weekend in 2023.Known as "Bradical" or "Mr Sunday" in the rider world, Binder is one of our national treasures and has dominated the front row in Sprint Race weekends and consistently edged in the top 10 throughout most of the year.
Binder finished fourth in the MotoGP standings for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing with 293 points. While there were some close calls, South Africa could not be prouder of our "Boytjie".
Courtney is probably Binder's biggest fan, always gushing about how proud she is of him on her social media posts.
She is also often by his side in the pits during race weekends whenever possible.Family and close friends surrounded the couple, all dressed in black, with the bride arriving at the ceremony in a luxurious Rolls Royce.
She wore a gorgeous dress by Veil Bridal Couture.
The most striking thing besides the couple was the incredible floral arrangements in white, which were everywhere, by Heike Hayward from Fleur le Cordeur Floral.
Binder, as mellow as always, was dressed in a black tuxedo and bowtie and looked as dashing as ever, a glimpse we're hardly used to other than seeing him in his leathers.
If the 2023 MotoGP season was anything to go by, we can't wait to see what's in store from him next year.
Here's to wishing Mr and Mrs Binder all the best on their new journey…
