In a bid to promote sustainability and empower unemployed women, a local organisation has taken on the responsibility of repurposing used saris into new clothing items and providing jobs and skills training opportunities.
Saris for Change was founded in 2014 by Rayana Edwards who’s been in the fashion industry for over three decades.
The organisation not only gives new life to used traditional garments but also provides essential skills and employment opportunities for women in need across Cosmo City, Yeoville, and Dobsonville in Soweto.
