I was tempted to title this "The State of the Nation"  though the wines and efforts of only 40 winemakers (and five non-producing members) out of an industry that numbers 457 private wine cellars (at last count, not including producer cellars and producing wholesalers, Sawis 2022 figures), cannot be conclusive.

But there's no denying their influence on and commitment to South African wine.
