Mahalia Kotjane with her maiden vintage Three Quarters.
Daléne Fourie

Twins run in Mahalia's family.

One of five children. I imagine her saying it like a riddle: I am my mother's fourth child from her third pregnancy. How many pregnancies did she have? Answer: Four. The first two were twin boys, followed by her brother, Mahalia, and baby sister. Thus, in reference to this riddle, the name of her wine brand, Three Quarters, is the idea of complementing experiences and different component parts, making up a greater whole.

It is also by no great stretch of the imagination that when Mahalia fell pregnant in 2017, she was pregnant with twins, a boy and a girl, Letlotlo and Rebonebotle—and later had another little boy, now two years old, Olerato. Sotho names from her husband's heritage, meaning Treasure, We've seen Beauty, and God is Love.
