New York - A United Nations fact-finding mission to the Central African Republic has found encouraging signs about the will to halt the violence and achieve a political transition, the French ambassador to the UN told the Security Council on Wednesday.
Francois Delattre's briefing followed a two-day visit to CAR by members of the Security Council.
The country has been plagued by violence since Muslim Seleka rebels overthrew then-president Francois Bozize, a Christian, in March 2013. Thousands of people were killed and about a million were displaced in the conflict.
