Cairo - An Egyptian baby has been given only a few days to survive after he was born with only one eye on his forehead.
It is believed his mom was exposed to radiation during her pregnancy.
The Daily Mail reports that the baby is suffering from cyclopia, a condition that normally results in death shortly after birth.
The infant has no nose as his eye sockets were not properly developed while in the womb.
According to Salati.com, most children born with this condition have various other defects, including underdeveloped hearts.
The New York Post reports that the condition is more common in animals.
Doctors at a private clinic in El Senbellawein believe this particular infant was exposed to radiation from various medicines taken by the mother or she could have been exposed to direct radiation early in the pregnancy.
The family is currently receiving counselling.
