MSF: Ebola moving faster than we can handle

Geneva - The Ebola crisis in west Africa is outstripping the ability of aid organisations to stem the epidemic, the head of international medical charity MSF said on Friday, likening it to a war.

"It is deteriorating faster, and moving faster, than we can respond to," Joanne Liu told reporters a day after returning from a 10-day mission to the hard-hit region.

"It is like war time. There is fear," she said.

"It's moving, and advancing, but we have no clue how it's going. Like in a war time, we have a total collapse of infrastructure," she added.

The outbreak started at the beginning of this year in the forested border zone between Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia, and has also spread to Nigeria.

While Guinea had initially been the hotbed, the pace of the outbreak there has slowed, with concerns now focused on the other countries, notably Liberia.

"If we don't stabilise Liberia, we'll never stabilise the region," said Liu.

Maybe a good place to start would be to show health workers how to wear a face mask.

The sangomas are gonna have a field day selling their "magic cure" to the oh so gullible South Africans, if and when Ebola strikes here.

The dire infrastructure, poor training and total reliance on foreign medical aid has much to do with this current epidemic. African governments prefer to spend money at luxury car dealers, five star hotels and arms vendors anther than develop infrastructure, especially healthcare. Fortunately the evil, despicable, white racists are always dumb enough to step up to the plate and provide emergency care.

slums are everywhere in the third world, the multitudes of India bangladesh and rural china living in squalid conditions number in the upper billions why is there no ebola there i am still asking this question, there are worse conditions in Asia and more poverty than you ever imagined compared to Africa, 650million people living with no toilets in India Of the 8 billion on earth today Black African people ONLY constitutes 6.7% of the world population, that makes us a tiny tiny minority and here i am including African peoples in the whole western world and the Pacific Islands and throughout the history of MANKIND Africans have never been in multitudes, Africa has been known to be a continent of vast open lands going to the horizon, it is still the same today the future population explosion that will happen in Africa will come from non-Africans occupying this piece of real estate known as Africa
