Oslo - The Norwegian Nobel Committee hopes that the Nobel Peace Prize for the Tunisian National Dialogue Quartet can "be of inspiration for those who want to work for peaceful processes," chairperson Kaci Kullmann Five says.
"No countries are alike, but we hope the values in the processes that have worked in Tunisia can give inspiration," she says.
The committee said in awarding this year's prize that it hopes it "will contribute towards safeguarding democracy in Tunisia and be an inspiration to all those who seek to promote peace and democracy in the Middle East, North Africa and the rest of the world".
Kullmann Five says she is not sure who would collect the prize on behalf of the quartet, adding her committee has "not had telephone contact with them but contacted them in another way."
