Johannesburg - President Jacob Zuma has extended the deployment of South African troops to the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Southern African and Indian ocean coast, and Sudan, the presidency said on Tuesday.
This was in fulfilment of South Africa's obligations to the United Nations, the Southern African Development Community, and the African Union, spokesperson Mac Maharaj said in a statement.
The initial deployment period of April 1 2014 to March 31 2015 had been extended to March 31 2016.
