Cape Town – Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe's "spin doctor" Jonathan Moyo has castigated the South African Litigation Centre (SALC), describing it as a "regime change outfit dominated, controlled & run by a white cabal with Rhodie or apartheid links".
Moyo, who is currently out of his ministerial post after Mugabe "temporarily" removed him from government, took his criticism of SALC to social media just before the High Court in Pretoria made its ruling over the failure by the South African government to arrest Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir during the recent African Union (AU) summit in Johannesburg.
The court had granted an application by the SALC that Al-Bashir be arrested in SA and be handed over to the ICC for prosecution. Al-Bashir, however, managed to leave the country before the end of the summit.
As an ICC signatory, South Africa was obliged to arrest him.
Moyo posted several tweets on Wednesday.

This came a few days after Mugabe urged African states to establish their own criminal court that would be mandated to prosecute Western leaders who have committed crimes on the continent.
Mugabe, who is the current AU chair, said the ICC was a court for Western countries, dispensing Western injustice on Africans.
"They committed crimes, colonial crimes galore – the slaughter of our people and all that imprisonment... I have a case, why was I imprisoned for 11 years? We forgave them, but perhaps we’ve not done ourselves justice... You set up the ICC, we set our ICC to try Europeans, to try Mr [George] Bush and Mr [Tony] Blair," Mugabe was quoted in the state-owned Chronicle newspaper as saying.
The veteran leader also said the AU was not ICC headquarters and therefore the orgnisation could not be expected to have Al-Bashir arrested.
1. As the court saga over Bashir's ICC debacle unfolds in SA, it's time to unpack the hell out of Southern African Litigation Centre (SALC).
