Harare - At least two people are feared dead after an Airforce of Zimbabwe jet crashed near Thornhill airbase in central Zimbabwe, state radio reported Thursday.
“The road leading to the wreckage has been cordoned off,” said the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation’s (ZBC) Power FM station.
“The pilot successfully ejected,” according to the report.
The Chinese-built K-8 jet crashed on Thursday morning a few kilometres from the airbase, which is situated in the central town of Gweru.
It was not immediately clear if they believed fatalities were people on the ground.
The ZBC’s website said that there had been two pilots in the aircraft and that both had successfully ejected from the plane.
