Malamulele – Economic Freedom Fighters deputy president Floyd Shivambu has called on his party's councillor candidates to offer free water to fellow villagers.
Shivambu was addressing EFF supporters and community members in Mukhomi village outside Malamulele on Tuesday.
"If you have boreholes, you must not sell water to the community, but make them come collect the water for free," he said.
Shivambu promised Limpopo community members that EFF councillors would be available 24 hours and seven days a week.
"All councillors of the EFF must make sure they report to the community every time the council seats. You must make sure that you develop your villages, rather than moving to stay in townships," he said.
Shivambu said underperforming councillors should be removed.
"The community has a right to remove an EFF councillor if he or she is not performing well," Shivambu said.
The former ANCYL spokesperson lambasted the ANC-led government for building incomplete RDP houses.
He said an EFF municipality would make sure they build better RDP houses.
"For the past 22 years, you have been forgotten and living in very difficult conditions. You have been given incomplete RDP houses, some without roofs and proper doors. The EFF only asks for five years to rectify this mess done by the ANC government," said Shivambu.
