Attempted murder case opened for Joburg bus shooting

Gauteng police confirmed a case of attempted murder and armed robbery have been opened for the Johannesburg bus shooting. 

News24 reported a bus driver was shot and wounded when he tried to protect his passengers during an armed robbery on the bus in Roodepoort, west of Johannesburg, on Wednesday.

According to the report, paramedics said the driver of the bus explained that an unknown number of suspects entered the bus as he stopped near the Mollie Road bus stop and opened fire into the bus.

The bus had several passengers on board at the time.
