CCTV footage has emerged on YouTube of an armed robbery that took place at a petrol station in Kempton Park. Watch.
The incident happened just before midday on January 17 on the R21, allegedly between Kempton Park and Pretoria. The visuals show two men pull up to a pump station in a VW. They casually get out of their car and approach a parked vehicle on the opposite side of the pump station (also a VW).
The first robber approaches the driver, clearly brandishing a hand gun, and seems to force the driver and passenger to hand over a backpack and to open the boot. His accomplice is waiting by the boot and once opened, he also makes off with a backpack. All this while petrol attendants stand by, bewildered.
Some reports suggest the victim's vehicle was followed after the victim drew money from an ATM at the Festival Mall.
This video follows a spate of incidents caught on camera this week, including a smash-and-grab incident in Johannesburg and a car hijacking in Pretoria.
