WATCH: Elsenburg students whipped by EFF protesters

accreditation

Students of the Elsenburg Agricultural College were assaulted with whips by protesting students and members of the EFF. The footage was taken during an illegal and violent protest, which started on Monday.

Students at Elsenburg Agicultural College in Stellenbosch had a violent start to their week when attempts to bar students from entering lecture halls, turned violent.

The disruptions started on Monday already when a group who claimed to be EFF members, disrupted classes to voice their objection to the college’s language policy. Elsenburg is registered with the Western Cape department of agriculture.

On Tuesday morning, things quickly turned violent when a group, armed with sjamboks, attacked students after management cut the chains used by the protesters to lock doors to the lecture halls.

Another video sent to AfriForum Youth of the same incident has also been uploaded to YouTube which shows scenes from inside the building.

According to a press statement sent to News24, AfriForum Youth has contracted a private security company to ensure the safety of non-protesting students and is busy with preparations to obtain an urgent court interdict.
