We speak to Thulani Mabhuti, 31, who started a life of crime at 15-years-old. Mabhuti joined the 28s gang later on in his life. Today he reflects why he became a gangster. Watch.
Mabhuti was in and out of prison for most of his life before he tried to commit suicide. After attempting suicide, he says he found faith and religion and had a desire to turn his life around.
With the help of City Mission, an organisation committed to rehabilitating ex-prisoners, Mabhuti now helps ex-convicted criminals follow in his footsteps.
Mabhuti works at the first honest job he's ever had at Mechstar Motors in Cape Town.
