Four-month-old Neave Barrett from Hout Bay, who was born with profound hearing loss, heard her parents voices for the first time when her cochlear implant was turned on.

Neave failed her hearing test at birth and is the youngest baby in South Africa and one of the youngest in the world to get a cochlear implant. On Friday the cochlear was turned on.

This special moment was captured by News24 Live and Health24.
