Today marks 70 years since the liberation of Auschwitz, one of the most horrific concentration camps of the Holocaust. We spoke to Holocaust survivor, Henia Bryer, at her home in Cape Town. Bryer survived Auschwitz, along with three other concentration camps. She also survived a meeting with Dr. Mengele, infamously known as Dr. Death. She opened up about about what it feels like to think back to the six worst years of her life. Watch.
She told News24 Live that she continued to tell herself, "I will not die, I'm too young to die." She remained as optimistic as she could during these trying years.
Bryer remembers life in the concentration camps like it was yesterday and continues to suffer from nightmares.
