3 Every Hour

The ANC recently got very excited about 67 souls lost in Nigeria. I would just like to highlight the fact that, according to the latest murder stats, we lose 47 South Africans to murder EVERY SINGLE DAY. That's 329 per week. 1,316 per month.
3 South African lives are lost every working hour. 3 lives lost in the time it takes to make lunch. Close on 50 South Africans will die while you spend your day at work.
Here are the challenges currently facing the average South African. Today alone:
• 475 of us will be robbed (327 with aggravating circumstances)• 394 of us will have our vehicles broken into• 156 cars/motorbikes will be stolen• 31 of us will be high-jacked
• 53 houses will be broken into• 51 non-residential properties will be burgled
• 458 of us will be assaulted• 502 of us will be assaulted with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm• 172 of us will be sexually assaulted
• 47 of us will survive a murder attempt• 47 of us will be murdered
Things to bear in mind:
Sexual assualt and rape cases are grossly under-reported (MRC estimates only 1 in 25 rapes reported)Robbery and break-ins are grossly under-reported
This is full-scale war yet our government is too busy concerning themselves with issues in Gaza. Too busy sending official delegations to Nigeria.
If each of the above crimes are performed by a single individual, there are 2,386 criminals committing crimes EVERY SINGLE DAY. That's more the total number of casualties on both the Palestinian and Israeli sides if the conflict.
When will enough be enough? 62% of the population are happy with being under constant attack.
We live in a world where facts and fiction get blurred
