A party in trouble and now all that is left is to bully the Public Protector

Dr Mathole Moshekga’s attack against Advocate Thuli Madonsela in the last couple of days is a true reflection of the face of the ANC.

It is the face of a party that is playing dirty when it is under pressure that alienates itself of democratic morals and accountability and the starting to become bombastic in the process in its actions.

The tactics of the ANC at the time of the report of the Public Protector in her investigation that her department had conducted on the Nkandla debacle was clear: Start more investigations and try and comprehend its conclusions of it to be in line with that of the Public Protector.

The consequence: President Jacob Zuma and the whole ANC won, as only one investigation that of Thuli Madonsela contains any pejorative evidence against the President and the actions followed. The other investigations, all being appointed by government, scrumming back form the crux of the matter.

And that is the accountability that the president of this country needs to be challenged on.

The sly manners in which the ANC has dumped the entire saga on Nkandla, and the uncertainties and blind sightedness around the Public Protectors report, means that Madonsela politically has been declared ‘free game’!

Moshekga’s previously was a bad chief whip in the National Seat of Government without any insight and or finesse.

Now he is the lame chairperson of one of parliament’s most important portfolio committees (justice) in which he makes politically driven attacks against the Public Protector.

He claims Madonsela is ‘power-hungry’ and thinks of herself ‘as being above parliament’ and her office being ‘a disaster’ and in pieces that makes no sense’.

His conduct is far removed from any previous chairpersons that handled matters in a much more a better equal and accountable way.

ANC cadres is the committee (such as John Jeffrey) never leave their membership cards at the door, but was in cohesion (consistency, interconnected, interrelated, structured) with opposition Members of Parliament, such as Dene Smuts and Steve Swart, and always being aware and cognoscente (literati, connoisseurs, specialist, and pundits) of the bigger picture, of the committees most important legislation and powers of jurisdiction.

Motshekga being an apparatus that has a license from his political masters to castrate the constitution and the diminish it.

The ANC is looking to find a more ‘serviceable’ Public Protector such as that of Advocate Selby Baqwa and Lawrence Mushwana that would do as they are told by government and this Thuli Madonsela should not allow.
