An uphill battle

While we might differ in many way we all share many more common similarities. Our shared humanity being at the centre.

There are instigators of divisions among us, both on and offline. Those that would have us forget that we have the same thoughts, feel the same feelings and live through the same fears. They would have us forget that our blood is one red and that WE ARE HUMAN!

They would have us focus on our differences, culture, class, religion and, yes, race which is very much alive and with us as it will be for years to come. These people would have us believe that we truly are enslaved to a starless midnight of division.

At times I think that we might be in the minority but then I realise that we have instigators like Malema, Hofmeyr and their ilk. Truth be told these people are an extreme minority, they just shout so loud that they drown out the silent mumbles of millions. Many countries has gone under because good men and women kept silent. The time has come to take a stand.

If you are one of these people then this part is addressed to you. Many nations has been consumed by the fires of division, ours might be as well. Even then we would fight you every step of the way to ensure that from the ashes is born a new nation truly united in its diversity until diversity ceases to be of importance and we become one cosmopolitan people. We will fight hatred and division not with guns and swords but unity and the outstretched hand of generosity.

It’s a battle well worth fighting and I invite you to fight it along our sides.
