I watched the game between South Africa with a combination of both excitement and anxiety from the first whistle to the last. With five minutes referee's optional time, it seemed like eternity and combine that with the sending off of Yeye. I realised that my heart is not as poor as I thought because I didn't earn a hospital stay or a visit to the morgue which brings me to the point this article is intending to illustrate.

Shakes was called some derogatory names you may find in the English dictionary. I salute him for his thick skin. If I were to be put in the same situation I wouldn't have lasted even an hour despite whatever gargantuan salary you would offer me.

Does this not prove how we look down one of our own? Some Brazilians were paid monstrous salaries and yes, they dismally failed. One of those Brazilians even confessed not to have earned such a gargantuan salary in his entire "coaching" career. Man, did he ever coach?

Surely, this must serve as a lesson to those who wear shinny suites at SAFA House to first consider one of their own before they cast their nets to the abroad shores.

Maybe I am just thinking out aloud, but the qualifiers have made me to think that way. Going all the way without a loss and conceding only three goals out of the avalanche scored for.
