I reluctantly returned home to UK after 14 wonderful years living and working in South Africa. I say reluctant as my South African husband died suddenly in 2010 and it was to painful to be in South Africa without him. I came back to UK in 2012.
Since September 2014 I have also been trying to return my life savings to UK so I can buy a home. The savings originated in 2005 when I sold my London apartment to buy us a marital home in Durban. No longer needing a marital home in Durbs I made a contractual commitment to buy a house here, but at every turn I am being barred from getting access to my money.
I managed to find a contact at the Reserve Bank but was then advised that the Reserve Bank don't like to speak to the public, and not to contact them again.
Once again my life is completely on hold, as the 5th anniversary of my husband's passing come up on 1st May.
