Dear Eskom

Dear Eskom,

While we understand that there are problems with the supply of electricity, and that it does not help to lay blame at your door where it squarely resides, we, your PAYING PUBLIC are really getting sick and tired of the on again off again state of our electricity supply.

We understand that there is now no other way to try and sort out the problems that YOU have caused over the past years due to incompetency, corruption, lack of maintenance etc, and that we will have to endure loadshedding for the foreseeable future, but….

HERE’S AN IDEA!

Instead of being told one minute “all is fine” and the next thing “Stage 3 Loadshedding is in progress” and then an hour or two later “Loadshedding has been suspended” why not set a PERMANENT Stage 1 Loadshedding Schedule in place for the foreseeable future?

·         This will go a long way to build up your reserves and alleviate the problems you are experiencing;

·         This will mean less areas being loadshedded for long periods;

·         It will allow the public to get used to a set schedule and be able to PLAN ahead – we DO have lives to live you know, and some of us work from home too;

·         It will make the paying public like you just a bit more than they do at the moment;

·         It should allow for NO LOADSHEDDING during PEAK HOURS when it interferes with traffic flow etc. and causes frustration and more accidents due to robots not working

I am not a high-powered, VERY highly-paid Eskom executive, but this kind of solution sounds kind of logical to me… what about you?

Oh yeah, and maybe do something more to alleviate the strain of illegal connections so that the 20% of paying users are not carrying the other 80% who DON’T pay. Figure out a way to make stealing electricity impossible ~ those who do not pay for electricity so not care how much they use, while those of us paying for it are trying our best to save where we can yet WE are being PUNISHED???
