Does God answer our prayers?

 Does God answer our prayers?

To supplement to our insufficient income, myself and my wife are occasionally given the opportunity to work various trade shows at which my wife's company exhibits at. I get paid for working the day and we earn commission on the sales that we make.

Over the past year the money that we have earned from these shows has gone a long way to paying for those unexpected bills that seem to pop up out of nowhere. This year the company has been blessed with profitability, as well as the expansion of their sales team, so there was no need for "part time sales people." They humoured us none the less and gave us one day, (a Sunday) at a boat show at which to work. Feeling a little dejected at not having the opportunity to earn commission on both days and knowing that Sundays are not the best days to earn commission on, I prayed for The Lord's Hand to be with our sales on the so that we could earn enough to provide for our needs.

When we arrived at the show on Sunday morning, I got a bit nervous when I heard that the previous two days sales had been pretty dismal and they were really "hoping" for a better Sunday. Instead of hoping I once again prayed that The Lord's Will be done, because He knows my needs.

Interest in the product was shown from early on and pretty soon others were making sales where I had not.

I continued to pray about it and apply myself (as I had done before) and pretty soon the sales started coming in. I was however still a little behind some of the other sales people.

About halfway through the day, the boss announced an incentive of an additional R2000.00 for the top sales person of the day and R1000.00 for the person who came second. As I was second at the time, I figured if I could maintain that, I could certainly do with the R1000.00. All of a sudden the sales started coming in (and decent sales at that), with no additional effort or input from myself and by the end of the day my (God's) sales had exceeded everybody else’s individual sales, not only for the day, but for the entire weekend. As a result I not only walked away with some great commission, but I got the R2000.00 for top salesman of the show as well.

I can but only believe God, The One and Only True God of The Bible and of Jesus Christ (not Allah or any other man made god) answered my prayers and I am thankful for the opportunity have contributed to the company's income earning, as well as to be used as a testimony to those around me that prayer really does work. All praise be to God. Amen.
