Don't panic and read

It does go on in our modern society, that we are fixated on our television, on our cellphone, once getting off it from the couch then using it, our computers, tablets etc. What then is happening we start to miss what is happening around us, a generation of social... well... idiots. a generation that spends their days on their cellphones. No  attempt being made to learn, see new things around you, eyes only fixated on a tiny little screen, eyes squinting.
Now this will not be a ranting of how we need to push technology one side and not use it. Technology has became part of our life, it has made our world smaller and made of easy access of information. In short, I am not saying that every person need to push it one side, not for me to say.
My case in point, is that we as a society busy, we do not rest and do not give our imagination any exercise anymore. What happened to the times of reading, imagination. Books are a way of escaping our daily lives for an hour or so, in the same time exercising our neurons in the brain, expanding our vocabulary.Unfortunately now we have a new generation populating the earth that can not spell properly of have no respect for proper punctuation and use of their respective language. But point in that, and a respective amount of exclamation marks!!!!. (where five and are a sure sign of insanity)
Most of my ranting done, it is important to take some time reading, if you are not a big reader, or like people whom really irk me, that say what is the use of books.  Take some time, have a read, it is calming and you get to escape.
For those whom read less than they put one foot ahead of the other, it might be fun to read authors that is not to heavy, (Homer, Tolstoy, etc might be to high of a tree) authors like Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchett. Their stories are light, satirical, and you don't need to think to much about the story if you do not want to.
Reading from a book, old stories and other literature might just increase our society of increasing stupidity to a higher state of intelligence how ever slight.
We live in a world where facts and fiction get blurred
