Well it seems someone on the inside has bowled Cricket SA out with a Googly with the breaking news that orders were given that one more person of colour be selected for the semi's of the 2015 Cricket World Cup. At long last we have someone to blame for this years "failure".
Up until this news broke I viewed this past Cricket World Cup as a success. The latest news that "Instructions" were given at the last minute coupled with the ANC calling for more transformation in Cricket in today's papers has changed all of this.
Seems like the ANC just cannot get over this race issue. Our country is facing it's biggest Electricity supply crisis ever with Eskom failing to deliver. Zuma and co will find a way to blame poor old Jan, Jan van Riebeeck the guy who came to establish a tuck shop and who was eventually replaced by that guy called Van Der Stel , who was technically a coloured person by today's definition.
I had a great Cricket World Cup with my black mates from Zimbabwe in the pub. Well they work here in the local pub because they have no issues with white South African males. We first both cheered for Zimbabwe and then I mocked them a bit by comparing England with Zimbabwe, saying they are both on the early flights.
I am not going to ask why the ANC has to continue to play the race card and to force transformation on everyone. It is because they have no visible and tangible success story. It is because they give jobs for pals. It is because they keep a corrupt president in power. They are following the same route as Pres Robert Mugabe.
My ex brother in law is a qualified Eskom Engineer who had to report to a political appointment. He still works indirectly for Eskom but is now being outsourced by a German company on contract basis. He emigrated to Germany a few years ago. So now we are paying 3 times more for his services.
Yes we are heading for a Banana Republic.
This breaking news of political interference just broke the "Nation Building Bubble" which was achieved by all our Cricket players, regardless of their skin colour.
Tahir's after match comment's in his typical Durban Indian accent was one of the highlights for me. Race was not an issue for me or any of my mates during any of the discussions about this years World Cup.
But the ANC has to press ahead and spoil it for every one. Clearly they have no Nation building at heart. Clearly they cannot achieve anything and so seek radical transformation for the sake of transformation. Even at primary schoolboy level quotas are being implemented.
They are spoiling it for the all the non whites who are in the team on merit. I thought they all were.
