I know this is getting old, and is probably one of the biggest irritations in our lives, however I would like to make some observations.
FACT
Eskom has been badly managed.
They have not kept up with necessary maintenance, so everything is starting to fall apart.
They have not planned ahead for increased usage requirements
FACT
Load shedding is here to stay for the foreseeable future, and all South Africans must accept this.
FACT
Eskom does not care about the people who use their product.
Here is my question!
Why has Eskom not set up a Load Shedding Public Relations Department?????
My Suggestion:
Eskom, create a Facebook page named “Eskom Load-Shedding”
Have someone update it on a daily basis or as often as required, giving people AMPLE WARNING about their electricity supply. (You cannot tell me that you only know 5 minutes before instituting Stage 2 that this is required). LET THE PUBLIC KNOW!
Eskom, think about how people would benefit from being warned early about the CORRECT load shedding stage (eg: the moms with babies, the ones who need to warm up their bottles or baby food. Etc etc etc)
It is a huge irritation in our lives, but if we have ample warning, then we can forward plan, and the irritation becomes a lot less!
