3 furry tales for Friday

Cape Town - Thank goodness it's Friday! After an all-too serious week of discovering new planets (Planet Zuma cough cough), we thought we'd treat you to something that won't raise a point of order, won't be offended when you call it madam but will simply tug at your heart strings and make you smile.

Meet Hopalong, found two weeks ago hopping on the side of a Soweto street.

This furry little pup embodies bravery, the spirit of never letting anything stop you and had to headline our Feel-Good Friday stories.

Having had a rough start to his life – part of one of his hind legs had been severed - you’d think that would dampen the spirit of the 6-week-old mutt, but not a chance.

Just look at that furry little face. Growing from strength to strength, he runs fearlessly and energetically like a pup with all four functioning limbs.

So okay, we have a confession to make...

We’re suckers for our brave furry friends. Moving further afield to the US, here's another inspiring story for our Feel-Good Fridays.

Seven-year old canine Skye disappeared on Monday night while out for a walk with her owners in Philadelphia.

She was found after two days of being trapped 15-feet deep in a sinkhole... Can you imagine? No food, no water, no warmth and yet Skye was heard barking from the hole by her owners, and later rescued.

We obviously can't make this all about dogs, so here's the hottest new feline internet sensation.

You've all probably heard of Grumpy Cat. Well meet Japanese Grumpy Cat - who may be more angry than grumpy.

Koyuki the Scottish fold cat has taken the internet by storm in recent days. We probably should be very very scared, but we simply can’t help burst out in laughter at this feline.

Koyuki has been hiding out for nine years in Yokohama and we’re awfully happy that she decided to grace us with her presence on Instagram.

Koyuki means “light snow” in English, but she definitely warms our hearts rather than leaving us frozen.

Happy weekend!
