First the “D'Oliveira affair" and now the “Haroon Lorgat” affair.

What is it with South African cricket? D'Oliveira was classified as “coloured” under the apartheid regime, and hence barred from first-class cricket, resulting in his emigration to England. This resulted in the boycott of our national cricket team and rightly so.

Kyle Abbott is classified as a “white man” and hence was barred from partaking in the match against New Zealand, which there is no doubt we would have won hands down. An inform Abbot is heads and shoulders above an injured Philander, his “coloured” political interference replacement.

If our national team was banned from all international activities in the past “D'Oliveira affair", then why should it, not be banned today in the recent “Haroon Lorgat” affair? (1)

Well the western world suffers from “white guilt”, what’s good enough for the gander is not good enough for the goose. So that will never happen.

When will the cross that the South African “white man” bears daily because of his skin colour be lifted? Well that will only be when Jesus Christ returns. As that will never happen the South African's white man's cross will last for ever.

(1) “Haroon Lorgat” affair

Cricket South Africa CEO Haroon Lorgat told Proteas coach Russell Domingo via SMS to pick an extra player of colour in the team before the semi-final in Auckland.

Lorgat told Domingo to choose between dropping Rilee Rossouw and picking Farhaan Behardien, or dropping Kyle Abbott for Vernon Philander.

Abbott was eventually dropped, with an unfit Philander taking his place, as New Zealand went on to beat South Africa by 4 wickets in a thrilling clash.
