Fix our PSL

As we are nearing the end of 2014-2015 PSL season I request the management of our football association SAFA to fix the league. There are few items that I would like them to look at and correct:

1.       Referees

It looks like our referees are above FIFA laws and/or do not use or are not regulated by them (FIFA laws). The decisions they take are not taken in anywhere, not in any African league nor any professional league one can think of. These guys can spoil the beautiful game and doing it intentionally knowing that at the end of the match they will be paid and support their families.

I think actions need to be taken against these referees, if there was no committee, SAFA must start a committee that will review all matches in the PSL. All weekend matches be reviewed on Monday and all midweek matches be reviewed on Thursday before weekend. All decisions taken by referees be reviewed and changed if changeable, and that the particular official and his assistants be called in for explanation for their poor/wrong decisions. If it is found that the referee was wrong, let that particular official be charged with bringing the league into disrepute be fined like any other employee at any company.

If I can write down the example of poor officiation, I can write a novel, wrongfully cautioned (yellow cards), red cards, failing to award penalties or awarding penalties that were not supposed to have been awarded, disallowing goals, not charging offside players, etc. Referees should be held accountable for all their careless mistakes and be punished for them to learn and be careful.

2.       Post-match comments

Commenting about referees after matches or at any given platform by coaches or players should be banned, without looking at whether the comments are good or bad. They must know that if they include a referee on any of their comment comments whatsoever they’ll be fined. That should be done in black and white, that everyone, coaches or players must be aware of this.

3.       Matches played

I think it should not be allowed that some other teams are left behind with two or more games to play, this seems to be little bit unfair to other teams. From match 25 PSL should try by means that no team is left behind, not even by a single match.
