Freedom of speech?

I've noticed that some columnists articles don't allow one to make a comment or engage into a debate about said article.

Is this just an IT glitch or purposefully done in order to avoid having to answer questions relating to the content which they have a right to express.

What happened to my freedom of speech, of disagreeing with particular aspects of their article which I might find lacking evidence or just being plain biased?

I refer you to Mr. Molefe's article titled 'National Braai Day - A day of forgetting'. Here Mr. Molefe argues that Heritage Day, celebrated on 24 September, has been hijacked by the commercial 'National Braai Day'. Although one can understand his frustration, it comes out very much prejudiced. He describes how white men sit around braaing meat and the white women are making the salads in the kitchen, meanwhile comparing how in his own culture women would make the fire and food....my friend, if you haven't noticed, that is different cultures acting out their own rituals, having their own identity and heritage. Please don't compare me braaing to being a right wing fundamentalist. Also, white folk tend to come from different cultures as well just like black folk do, so please don't generalise whites.

In a nutshell, I would say celebrate your heritage as you know how, noone is forcing you to have a braai for goodness' sake. You are the one responsible for teaching your children where they come from and where their roots lie, not the folks on TV and definitely not disgruntled individuals who can't overcome their own inadequacies.
