It is my defensiveness that gets stirred when I read the odd "Jimmy's" express their lack of belief or mock the fellow Christian.
Then, My views get tarred and I guess I find myself wanting to explain myself a bit better.
People dont always portray their innermost feelings and beliefs. Imagine bumping your head a pot shot on the forehead in front of a pretty girl, Your natural reaction is assure her that you are okay, even if you seeing stars and have a hidden concern about possible brain damage.
Now , we can all agree without more examples but just how much camouflage do we use in our lives each day?
It is un-questionable that we would always portray a sense of well being especially to strangers and even to those we know intimately .
This tendency does have consequences because some people become masters at hiding their true feelings.
Any Atheist has a story that probably needs zero judgement, especially not from a Christian person.
When I was at an impressionable age having a laugh and chat with a friend, and along came some stranger and we all got chatting/philosophizing as any good company would. I remember admiring the sky and the conversation became where this "cool dude" gave his impressions.
Now my friend and I being younger, this guy had shared his great Job he had, his nice car and you know, just how sorted out in life he was.
He insisted that there were no demons or God or spiritual manifestation present on this world what so ever. Instead, he gave his strong view point at some new age garbage related to parallel universes..
Well, after the weed took its toll, this guy got off talking about his teenager days of wearing a Pentagram, going to night clubs. He started expressing his real life experience with demons during those years and also mentioned a story that happened to him in the army which was actually frightening.
I have lived with a woman that strongly apposed my christian good news, didn't believe a shred of it. Eventually she admitted that she serves Satan and that she has a spiritual guide that tells her things and that she has made her bed and wants to lie in it.
Many people are angry or hurt, Some people cannot understand why God would allow such seemingly perverted or astonishingly less than ideal situations to to be dealt to them.
People who have lost their moms or Dads at young ages, how kumbaya stories can easily make you want to strangle somebody.
This life is far from bloody fair, it is actually pretty tough. God is tough on some of us, it is in fact compassion we need for our fellow man.
There is reason we are told numerously in God's word, dont judge. As a Christian I have asked why ? Why not judge ?
Well, some grey hairs later I tell you the reason, People have it hard, Their thoughts and feelings are tremendously different from what they profess day in and day out...
Have a heart... It is the least we can do while we live this life .
